I’m putting the finishing touches on Drag and Spell.  Drag and Spell is a Windows 8 app and will be available soon in the Windows 8 app store.

Of course, I tested this with Sebastien, my 9 year old son.  After some suggestions he approved the design

Drag and Spell for Sight Words is an exciting new way to learn sight words.  New reader learn to recognize and spell sight words, and have fun too!

Select a level then select Practice or Challenge mode.  New readers drag letters to the empty letter boxes.  Letters turn green and stick when in the correct position.

Drag and Spell Practice mode helps new readers learn to recognize and spell sight words.

In Challenge mode, new readers are rewarded with treasure and earn points.

New readers earn treasure and points while learning to spell sight words.

Challenge mode displays summary information.  New readers are rewarded for their effort and encouraged to improve.

Drag and Spell encourages all new readers to learn sight words.  New readers can learn independently without the pressures of the classroom.  Drag and Spell rewards and encourages students to learn.
